In 1985, at his first Grand Prix, Ayrton Senna’s mastery captivated him. A regular presence at rallies and Grands Prix, he admired the mastery of drivers such as Alain Prost in F1 and Markku Alén in rallying, in an era when icons like Niki Lauda and Emerson Fittipaldi had already become absolute legends of the sport.
Nuno followed international events worldwide but Formula One remained his passion core. This devotion led him to deepen his research into motorsport transforming a personal passion into a lifelong pursuit now shared through the Grand Prix History Series.
From Spectator to Historian
This work is based on contemporary race reports, period publications, technical archives and historical motorsport records spanning more than a century of Grand Prix racing history.
Born in Lisbon, Nuno discovered motor racing through his father amid Portugal’s 1980s racing fever. The Rally de Portugal ranked as the world’s best, while Formula one returned triumphantly to Estoril, the “Portuguese Riviera”.
